Vienna is composed in 23 districts which all have their own names: 1st Innere Stadt (city centre), 2nd Leopoldstadt, 3rd Landstrasse, 4th Wieden, 5th Margareten, 6th Mariahilf, 7th Neubau, 8th Josefstadt, 9th Alsergrund, 10th Favoriten, 11th Simmering, 12th Meidling, 13th Hietzing, 14th Penzing, 15th Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, 16th Ottakring, 17th Hernals, 18th Währing, 19th Döbling, 20th Brigittenau, 21th Floridsdorf, 22th Donaustadt and 23th Liesing.

The heart and historical city of Vienna, the Innere Stadt (Inner City), was once surrounded by a mighty city wall. The wall was removed in 1857, and the new space was used for a street around Vienna, todays "Ringstrasse". Imposing buildings, monuments and parks were created along this Ringstrasse, such as Rathaus (town hall), the Burgtheater, the University, the Parliament, and the State Opera.

Vienna is famous for its many parks. Some of these parks include monuments, such as the Stadtpark and Belvedere Park with its baroque-style castle. The principal park of Vienna is the Prater, which is situated on an island formed by the Danube River and the canal. Schönbrunn, the beautiful Imperial Summer Palace, includes an 18th century park and the world's oldest zoo (1752).

The new City Airport Train (CAT) offers a nonstop connection from the centre of Vienna to the airport. One ride takes 16 minutes. The trains are going every 30 minutes.
The bus service of the Vienna Airport has several bus lines, which also go every 30 minutes from spots in Vienna like Schwedenplatz, Südbahnhof Railway Station or Westbahnhof Railway Station). The ride with the bus takes between 20 and 35 minutes.
There are also bus connections from the airport to the Slovakian capital Bratislava and the airport of Bratislava.

The Schloss Schönbrunn Palace is the most visited Viennese sight in Vienna. 2,3 mio visitors were counted in the year 2005. Rank two and three takes up the Zoo and the Art History Museum (Kunsthistorische Museum).
1,7 mio people wanted to see the Viennese Zoo, and made this location to number two of the most visited places in Vienna. One rank behind: the Kunshistorische Museum, which 665.000 people visited last year.

On the fourth position is the Riesenrad (Ferris wheel) in the Viennese Prater which 620.000 guests visited. Position five goes to emperor appartments, sissi museum and the silver chamber, which all you can see for one ticket. It was sold 583.000 times in 2005. Positions six and seven are Albertina (562.000 visitors) and the Austrian gallery Belvedere (416.000 visitors).

401.000 people have seen the view over Vienna from the Danube Tower (Donauturm), which means the eight position. The Kunst Haus Wien (art house Vienna) and the Leopold Museum complete the top ten.
